Our History
The Sheboygan Area Safety Council began in the late 1960s with the same philosophy that holds true today - making Sheboygan County a safer place to work and live. It's founding members believed that by sharing information and education would bring those involved in safety throughout Sheboygan County together. They were right. In 1968 the Council had 57 members. It had grown to 62 members in 1971 with 94 people on the mailing list. Today the Council is 90 members strong with over 200 people involved in safety on it's mailing list. Sheboygan County manufacturing has become a safety conscious industry, striving for improvement.
To show the dedication of safety in Sheboygan County, these companies have been active members with the Safety Council from the beginning:
